Your kitchen should be a reflection of you. Your style. Your personality. Your life, and the way that you live it. That’s why we love working with clients like Steve and Megan. We love cooking up a kitchen that is as unique and beautiful as the people who will live in it. When we meet clients who are brave enough to be bold and allow their kitchen to evolve into something that is truly one-of-a-kind, we get to create something truly memorable.
Steve and Megan came to us with a very small kitchen and a pokey pantry space that was under utilised, cluttered and “about the size of a shoebox”! They had lived in their home for just shy of 20 years and had renovated almost every room except the kitchen, which was still stuck in its 1990’s heyday.
Having never designed a kitchen before, they didn’t really know what they wanted or how to design it. They were however, very clear on what they didn’t want and because of this, they expressed to us that it was important that they chose someone who had an eye for detail, would listen to their requirements, and then suggest solutions that were both modern and stylish.
To help facilitate Steve and Megan’s dream kitchen, we removed the old pantry, utilising all the available space to create an area that would be a social hub for the kitchen/family room area. The cabinetry was constructed with charcoal doors and panels in Laminex Riven finish, complimented by 40mm Caesarstone Rugged Concrete benchtops.
“It’s exactly what we wanted – no, that’s wrong… it’s MORE than what we wanted or hoped for. It’s become the heart of the home now, and when people visit they have that “Oh WOW!” moment when they see how the kitchen has transformed the area. It’s no longer a cramped little kitchen with a pantry whose door you’d close if anyone visited so they wouldn’t see inside… it’s now a space the whole family can work in, from cooking to homework to just hanging out, and we couldn’t be more happier!
Thankfully, Ash and the team at Summit were excellent in understanding our needs and making the dream become a reality. Ash was very good at thinking outside the box and giving us solutions that we hadn’t even thought of!“

By utilising the Blum Aventos bi-fold lift system for overhead cupboards, Steve and Megan have gained substantial storage. We also incorporated a roller door appliance cabinet to tuck away their kettle, toaster, tea and coffee. Hafele downlights were custom built into appliance cabinets with motion sensors together with overhead LED strip lighting to highlight the splashback. The under bench drawers and cupboards are all finger pull to give a sleek modern finish to the overall design.
Working with Steve and Megan on this project was an absolute pleasure. Seeing them together in their new kitchen and the happiness it has brought them is the reason we love to do what we do!
